Port prunes

A delicious accompaniment to a cheese platter.

Ingredients

Cinnamon stick
Red port
Honey
Star anise
dried Pruneaux d'Agen plums

Preparation

  1. Put red port with a little honey, a cinnamon stick, and star anise in a pan and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the plums and let them simmer gently for a few minutes.
  3. Let the plums cool in the liquid so they can absorb it (preferably make this a few days in advance so the flavor can develop well).
  4. Serve with a cheese platter.
