Since 1827, the Grand Marnier distillery has been located in Neauphle-le-Château near Paris. Grand Marnier was created there in 1881 when Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle combined the finest French Cognacs with oranges from the Caribbean. The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation but remains as modern as it was in every era. Grand Marnier is an award-winning liqueur made from the finest French cognac combined with the taste of exotic oranges from the Caribbean. This results in a versatile, round yet complex flavor. Delicious alongside coffee as a digestif or in a cocktail! The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation since 1880. This complex liqueur is made from 52% cognac enriched with a delicate exotic orange distillate. The cognacs come from the regions of Grande and Petite Champagne, the Borderies, Fins Bois, and Bon Bois and are at least of V.S.O.P. quality. After adding the orange distillate to the cognac, it is aged for another six to eight months in large oak barrels.
