Plums are one of the best-known types of seasonal fruit. They are stone fruits with a hard inedible pit. They are related to cherries. In the orchards of the growers, various European quality varieties grow, such as Opal, Monsieur Hâtif, and Reine Victoria. Plums vary in taste from sweet to sweet and sour. The flesh is firm and the skin smooth. A good specimen yields when you gently squeeze it and is wrinkle-free. Plums are perfect to use cold, but briefly grilling and serving them lukewarm gives a particularly flavorful effect. Ripe plums are best stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of around 4°C. This lower temperature slows down the ripening process and keeps them good for longer. Plums from the Netherlands are available in the months of July and August. Available per crate of 6 kilograms or loose per kilo. Also discover the other stone fruits or soft fruits in the Prestige range.
