
Bara sandwich with crispy chicken and tomato sambal
The bara is a delicious Surinamese snack made from yellow split peas.Rolled out flat, it is nice to serve this with crispy chicken and a salad of celery and curry. The sambal from Lekker Bekkie completes it.Ingredients
mix for bara spinach
breaded chicken pieces
raw celery & curry salad
tomato sambal
Preparation
- Mix the bara mix with water and oil (according to the instructions on the package).
- Let rest.
- Form into balls and flatten.
- Fry in oil until flat 'buns'.
- Fry the breaded chicken thigh pieces until crispy in oil.
- Spoon some of the raw vegetables onto the bara.
- Place the warm chicken pieces on top and garnish with the tomato sambal.
