Japanese steak tartare

With a dressing of rice vinegar, soy sauce, wasabi, spring onions, and sesame oil.

Ingredients

3spring onions
1units.theelepelfinely chopped pickled ginger
250gsirloin steak
1units.theelepelroasted sesame seeds
2units.theelepelSoy sauce
1units.theelepelWasabi
sweet and sour cucumber
roasted seaweed
1units.theelepelrice vinegar
2units.theelepelSesame oil

Preparation

  1. Cut the beef into small cubes. Add the pickled ginger.
  2. Mix the rice vinegar with the soy sauce, wasabi, and sesame oil. Finely slice the spring onions.
  3. Stir until smooth and mix half into the tartare. Chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the dressing and the sesame seeds.
  5. Place the tartare in a small bowl, add the sweet and sour cucumber and the sliced spring onion, and stick a piece of toasted seaweed into the tartare.
