Liefmans waffles

Liefmans waffles.

Ingredients

20gDry yeast
300mlMilk
5Eggs
500gFlour
80gFine sugar
125mlLiefmans 0.0
125gButter
Pinch of salt
1(Peanut) oil

Preparation

  1. Heat the milk until it is lukewarm. Then stir in the yeast until it is dissolved.
  2. Put the flour in a bowl, make a well in the center, and add the egg yolks, sugar, Liefmans 0.0, and the yeast mixture. Mix well together.
  3. Melt the butter and add it to the batter. Mix further until you have a smooth batter.
  4. Beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the batter along with a pinch of salt. Let rise for 45 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Grease a waffle iron with peanut oil. Spoon some batter into the waffle iron, close it, and bake. Serve as desired with fruit and powdered sugar.

Tip: Slowly reduce the remaining 125 ml Liefmans with 50 grams of sugar to make a syrup and serve with the waffles!
