Spicy beets

Glazed beets.

Ingredients

2ruby port
red beets (peeled and sliced)
3Water
1Garam masala
1merlot wine vinegar

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients (except the beets) and reduce by half.
  2. Cook the peeled and sliced beets in this until tender.
  3. Strain the cooking liquid and reduce it to a syrupy consistency.
  4. Glaze the beets in this with a little butter when serving.
  • Tip: using white beets? Then use white port and chardonnay vinegar.
