This variant of the classic Marula gin is a soft sweet gin, with aromas of red fruits and a beautiful soft pink hue. This Marula gin variant is also inspired by the Miombo forests in Namibia. In those forests stands the Sclerocarya Birrea, also known as the Marula tree. This tree produces small fruits barely 2 to 3 centimeters in size. These fruits are said to possess an enormous magical power. It is the forbidden fruit of the elephant tree. Three Antwerp gin connoisseurs made a gin based on this fruit and added pomegranate as the main flavoring. They also used botanicals such as coriander, lavender, orange blossom, and rose petals. Combine this gin with a spicy tonic with a hint of citrus and garnish with a few pomegranate seeds.
