Wild garlic belongs to the same family as onion, garlic, chives and leek and therefore has a mild garlic flavour. The herb is quite rare in the Netherlands and Belgium and has a short growing season, from April to June. The oval leaves are about three to five centimetres wide and dark green in colour. The finely chopped leaves can be used, among other things, in salads, sauces, dips and marinades.
