Puff pastry sticks

Twisted crispy puff pastry sticks with raw ham and sage.

Sommelier's tip: Serve a red wine such as Montepulciano with this dish. 

Ingredients

fresh sage leaves
crispy bacon
raw ham slices
Puff pastry
Salt
Egg yolk

Preparation

  1. Roll out the puff pastry. Top the puff pastry with slices of raw ham, fresh sage leaves, and the crispy bacon.
  2. Place a second sheet of puff pastry on top and press firmly.
  3. Carefully roll over the dough with a rolling pin. Tip: leave the plastic wrap on the dough to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the plastic wrap.
  5. Cut the puff pastry into strips of the desired size.
  6. Twist the dough into a twister shape.
  7. Place the dough on a baking mat and brush with egg yolk.
  8. Sprinkle with salt. Bake at 180°C until golden brown and crispy.
