
Chicha Morada
The authentic Peruvian drink. Also known as the 'sangria of Peru'! Can be served cold (on ice) or warm, with or without alcohol.Ingredients

tequila
400gpurple corn cobs
hibiscus water to taste
Preparation
- Chop the corn cobs into pieces.
- Put them in the water.
- Add the apple (in pieces, without the core), cinnamon, and cloves.
- Add the peels of the pineapple and orange.
- Put the lid on the pan and let it simmer gently for 30 minutes.
- Then add the anise, and simmer for another 20 minutes with the lid on over low heat.
- Let cool in the pan.
- Then strain the mixture (save the apple pieces).
- Add the juice of the limes.
- Add hibiscus water and cane sugar to taste, until you reach the desired sweetness.
Tip: serve the apple pieces as garnish.
