Classic mulled wine

Gluhwein in its classic form, that's how we like to drink it. Heat the gluhwein together with some spices and warm the hearts of your guests!

Ingredients

1units.itemsOrange
3units.itemsCinnamon stick
5units.itemsClove
6units.itemsCardamom
1units.itemsNutmeg
3units.itemsStar anise

Preparation

  1. Pour the mulled wine into a pan and gently heat.
  2. Meanwhile, slice the orange into rounds.
  3. Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom, star anise, and nutmeg to the mulled wine in the pan.
  4. Put a lid on the pan and let the mulled wine absorb all the flavors of the spices by letting it sit on low heat for half an hour. (Note: do not boil, as the alcohol will evaporate).
  5. Strain the mulled wine and serve in a glass.
  6. Garnish with an orange slice, cinnamon stick, star anise, and/or clove.
