Apanage 1874 is a nod to Pommery's tradition of blending a perpetual reserve with vintage years. In this case, 16% of the perpetual reserve has been added to a blend of warmer years: 2012, 2015 and 2018, to create “something deep and complex”. The grapes come from 17 crus, mainly from Cramant to Bergères les Vertus (Côte des Blancs), Bouzy to Ecueil via Verzenay (Montagne de Reims), Mareuil-sur-Aÿ to Fleury-la-Rivière via Aÿ-Champagne (Vallée de la Marne) and Les Clos Pompadour.
Predominance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of the very best origin, enhanced by the great Meuniers from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne. 48 months in Pommery’s historic cellars + at least 4 months’ development after disgorgement.
As a gastronomic champagne par excellence, Apanage Brut 1874 has reinterpreted all dimensions of the culinary experience through its flavours: freshness or tension, salinity or minerality, sweetness, bitterness and umami.
