This 100% Sémillon is produced from vines near Lieu-Dit Mahon in the village of Pujols-sur-Ciron, just minutes from Sauternes and Langon. “Mahon” is an old French word for poppy or red flower. These plots were selected for their sandy terroir over deep gravel, which ensures good hydration and little water stress. This allows good development of the grapes, resulting in a fresh and delicate white wine. Made by direct pressing. Fermentation and ageing in oak barrels: 8 months.
This wine has a beautiful light yellow colour with green highlights. The expressive bouquet reveals aromas of white fruit. A delicate, complex wine on the palate, with a fantastic balance between floral notes and oak flavours reminiscent of coconut and vanilla. The finish is balanced, fresh and lively, with a wonderfully long aftertaste. Ready to drink now and can be kept for the next five years.
