The Zeeuwse Platte, also known as le Platte, Belon, flat oyster, or native oyster, is known for its refined flavor. This oyster develops its character slowly and is only ready for consumption after 5 to 6 years, which contributes to a complex and distinctive taste. The shell is round and smooth, and the size is indicated in zeros, with 6/0 being a large size. The Zeeuwse Platte is scarce because it reproduces with difficulty and is being displaced by the faster-growing Zeeuwse Creuse. The season runs from mid-September to April. Packed per 12 pieces.
