Fried anise cookies
Small Spanish anise cookies with a crispy bite and soft core. Fried golden brown and finished with orange oil and cinnamon sugar.One is never really enough.Ingredients
1Egg (M)
42mlWhole milk (37°C)
2gSalt
2gBaking powder
25mlSunflower
2Anise seed
250gAll-purpose flour
10gVanilla liqueur
30gSugar
Cinnamon sugar
Neutral oil for frying
Orange oil
Preparation
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt into a bowl.
- Grind the anise seeds finely.
- In another bowl, mix the egg with milk, oil, vanilla liqueur, sugar, and the ground anise.
- Combine both mixtures and knead for about 10 minutes into a smooth dough.
- Cover with foil and let rest for 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal portions.
- Roll out and cut out the desired shape with a ring.
- Then cut out a smaller circle from the center.
- Fry for 2.5 to 3 minutes at 170°C until golden brown.
- Brush with orange oil and roll in cinnamon sugar.
