Burrata originally comes from Puglia, the region in the heel of the boot in Southern Italy. A soft cheese that resembles mozzarella, but even creamier. From the outside, burrata looks remarkably like mozzarella. If you hold burrata in your hand, you feel a clear difference. Burrata is softer. It is a pouch of mozzarella filled with a mix of cream and finely chopped young mozzarella, making it lush and soft in taste.
