Scallops have a distinctive shell. The convex side of this shell is cream-colored, the flat side of the shell is pinkish-brown. The meat of the scallop is located inside the convex shell. This is also called the nut. These Canadian scallops are wild-caught in the northwestern part of the Atlantic Ocean. They are removed from the shell and can be used directly. The scallops taste sweet, they can be fried or grilled, but are also very tasty raw.
