Ice cream bun disc

A brioche bun filled with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and garnishes of your choice, toasted in the ice bun toaster.This device, working like a sandwich maker but designed for soft bread such as brioche, toasts the buns into crispy discs while the inside remains cold and icy. Optionally, garnish with powdered sugar.

Ingredients

Brioche buns
Vanilla ice cream
Whipped cream
Stroopwafel pieces
Pancoating
Coconut-chocolate cubes
Ice bun toaster / gelato panini press
Powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation

  1. Let the brioche buns thaw completely and then slice them open.
  2. Fill the bottom of each bun with a generous scoop of (vanilla) ice cream.
  3. Add a dollop of whipped cream on top of the ice cream.
  4. Decorate with toppings of your choice, such as pieces of chocolate or stroopwafel.
  5. Place the top of the bun back on.
  6. Grease the ice bun toaster with pan coating. This device works like a sandwich maker but gets very hot and is specially designed for soft bread like brioche, allowing it to toast the buns into crispy discs.
  7. Place the filled bun in the ice bun toaster and toast briefly. The outside quickly becomes hot and crispy, while the inside remains cold and icy.
  8. Optionally garnish with powdered sugar.
