Poffertjes French toast style

Poffertjes in the style of French toast, baked in a batter of milk, egg, vanilla and cinnamon.Served with stewed cinnamon apples, vanilla ice cream and vanilla sauce, this is a warm and familiar dessert with a comfort food factor.

Ingredients

Cinnamon sugar
250mlWhole milk
Butter
Poffertjes

15gVanilla sugar
Goudreinet apples
2units.theelepelCinnamon powder
Vanilla ice cream
Vanilla sauce

Preparation

  1. For the batter, mix the milk with the vanilla sugar, eggs and cinnamon powder using a whisk.
  2. Place the poffertjes in the batter and let them soak up some of the mixture.
  3. Then fry the poffertjes in butter.
  4. Peel the Goudreinet apple and cut it into cubes.
  5. Stew the apple cubes in butter and cinnamon sugar until tender.
  6. Spoon the fried poffertjes onto a plate.
  7. Serve with the stewed cinnamon apples, vanilla ice cream and vanilla sauce.
