Poffertjes okonomiyaki style

Poffertjes with a Japanese twist. Ideal as a surprising sharing plate or snack with a worldly flavor.These savory poffertjes are served with crispy bacon, kimchi, stir-fried vegetables, Kewpie mayonnaise, oki sauce, and bonito.

Pointed cabbage

Poffertjes
Herb butter
Kewpie mayonnaise
Oki sauce
Kimchi
Spring onion
Pancake bacon
Red chili pepper
Sesame seeds
Dried bonito

Preparation

  1. Mix the ingredients below into a smooth sauce.

  1. Cut the pointed cabbage into julienne strips and blanch briefly.
  2. Briefly fry the cabbage in sesame oil before serving.
  3. Clean the carrot and use a mandoline to cut it into spaghetti.
  4. Blanch briefly and fry in sesame oil before serving.

  1. Fry the pancake bacon until crispy in the pan and break it into pieces.
  2. Do not thaw the poffertjes, but put them frozen into melted herb butter. This way they absorb the flavor well while warming up.
  3. Place the poffertjes on a platter.
  4. Spread the crispy bacon on and between them.
  5. Then distribute the vegetables and kimchi over the poffertjes.
  6. Garnish with Kewpie mayonnaise, oki sauce, finely chopped spring onion, red pepper, sesame seeds, and dried bonito.
